How does one upgrade the L2 cache from 256K to 512K with a cache module?

A COAST module is only used in conjunction with P.B. SRAM. If your mainboard already has asynchronous SRAM on board you cannot use the COAST module for expanding the external cache. This is because the two different types of SRAM cannot be used in the same system. If your mainboard is already equipped with 256KB P.B. SRAM it is easy to upgrade your L2 cache from 256KB to 512KB. Be sure that the COAST module you have purchased meets the COAST Rev. 2.1 specification. ABIT provides the PB256 Rev 1.3 COAST module which meets the Rev. 2.1 specification requirement. Our mainboard model numbers which can accept this upgrade are PN5, PT5R2 and PN5.
