Why my Roland MPU-401-IPC-T / MPU-401AT or standard MPU-401 device can not work under Windows2000? Is it the compatible issue with ABIT motherboards? (Generic)

It is a INF bug of Windows2000. Please excute Notepad program (built-in with Windows2000) or other unicode-support text editor, then open the \WINNT\inf\wdmaudio.inf file, and search for the following line.

ExcludeFromSelect = *

Add the semicolon ";" at the beginning of line then save the file.

;ExcludeFromSelect = *

Then, add MPU-401 Compatible MIDI Device via Control Panel (Add New Hardware) and reboot the system.
