I have a Quantum ST4320AT, IBM DHEA34330 or Maxtor 4.3GB harddisks. When I setup the type as AUTO in BIOS, the module name could be detected correctly, but it shows "CHS" in BIOS data box.

I have a Quantum ST4320AT, IBM DHEA34330 or Maxtor 4.3GB harddisks. When I setup the type as AUTO in BIOS, the module name could be detected correctly, but it shows "CHS" in BIOS data box.

It is because Quantum HDD is partitioned in CHS mode. Thus, BIOS will detect it's HDD type as CHS mode. You may remove all old partition by FDISK program (do not create DOS partition now), reboot, and set BIOS to LBA mode, and the create dos partition via FDISK.
