Some drivers exhibit quite different characteristics between old and new version, and may cause problems when you update from old version directly.

The typical of such kinds of drivers are VIA 4in1 drivers and HPT drivers.

Some users reported a Windows 2000 system crash while update new HPT driver, or install VIA 4in1 drivers without uninstalling old version.

To avoid driver conflicts, remove/uninstall current version before an update please.

For VIA 4in1 drivers,

a. Uninstall current VIA 4in1 drivers by running "setup.exe" again.
b. Reboot and get into Windows several times to make sure the system stable and no problem.
c. Install new VIA 4in1 drivers.

For HPT drivers,

a. Always back up the system and data from RAID to another storage devices, file servers or NAS available at network place please. In case there is something wrong after HPT driver update, you may restore the system and data.
